Exciting Times! A message from the President

Exciting times have arrived at Penn Cricket Club!

Work has now started on the major project to convert the old scout hut building into a new Club Lounge, Bar and community meeting facility. When completed this will provide a better social facility with enhanced viewing of the cricket, and also for the wider community an excellent room to hire for smaller society meetings, children’s parties and many other events. In turn this should provide the Club with an enhanced income to guarantee its future.

In addition the long-awaited drainage works have now been completed on the outfield and outside the boundary fence. Two large sumps and a land drain have been installed which will hopefully solve our long-term problem and also enable us to reclaim the outfield.

The re-entry of the Club into the Staffs Club Cricket Championship has also encouraged an influx of new players, several of whom are very experienced and have played at a high level. We can hopefully therefore look forward to a rewarding season.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet you at the ground, whether you are an existing or prospective new sponsor, player or spectator, and hope that you will enjoy the ambiance of a family-orientated and community-based local cricket club.
